Heritage Palms is home to six pickleball courts and an active pickleball community.  Four brand-new LED-lit courts, adjacent to the tennis courts, are available daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm; two additional pickleball courts, located on the corner of Washingtonia Palm and Queen Palm Lane, are available for Open Play (first-come, first-served, rotational doubles play) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Car and golf cart parking is available at both locations in designated areas, along with restrooms, seating areas, AEDs, ice, and water machines. The dress code is active sportswear, shirts are required, and court tennis shoes must be cleaned of clay (such as Har-Tru tennis court) before play.

You may “request” use of the four pickleball courts, located near the tennis courts, via the Chelsea Reservation System in one-hour increments 3-6 days before your requested day/time – listing all player names. If there is availability after this time, you may “book” a court for an hour 2-3 days before your requested day/time, listing one player's name.  Court reservations will be posted daily at the pickleball courts. For same-day use, please call the Racquet Sports Shop at (239) 278-9090, press 7 (or Ext 130), to check availability.  The two neighborhood pickleball courts cannot be reserved and are Open Play at all times.
In Open Play, players place their paddles in the paddle saddles in order to determine the order of rotation. All games played will be doubles when members are waiting.  Each court will rotate after an 11-point game, with the winner determined by a two-point margin. When courts are crowded, play games to 9 points instead of 11, and then vacate the court.
Heritage Palms strives to provide its members with accessible amenities. Depending upon the season, and designated by the Director of Racquet Sports, court play may be limited to members only/no guests, limited by gender, or restricted to instruction, League or Open Play. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult, and there are no guest fees for kids.  The guest fee is $10 a day or $30 per week, payable at the Racquet Sports Shop, a full-service facility that loans and sells pickleball racquets, sells apparel, and offers private pickleball lessons, group clinics/lessons, and pairings.

Chad Dyer is the Director of Racquet Sports (859) 248-1299 [email protected]

Daniel Camacho is the Head Professional for Racquet Sports (239) 278-9090 x130 [email protected]

During the season, weekly beginner and novice pickleball players are encouraged to play from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. A beginner clinic/group lesson is offered from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Tuesdays. Sign up at least 24 hours in advance at the Racquet Sports Shop for $20 per person. The maximum group size is 6, the minimum is 3. Individual pickleball lessons are available from Chad or Daniel at $75 per hour/$40 per half hour.

Proper attire for men and women is required. Casual, comfortable clothing is acceptable including tee shirts (but not undershirts), gym shorts and/or appropriate warm-up suits. Shirts and court/tennis shoes are mandatory.
Heritage Palms is exploring Pickleball League Play now that it has four pickleball courts.  This would likely include competitive team play with other communities for players rated 2.5-4.0 in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.

The Heritage Palms Pickleball Association (HPPA) is a membership-based ($20 per person per year charged to member account) social organization that organizes annual pickleball events and tournaments.
Pickleball racquets can be signed out or purchased at the Racquet Sports Shop. To ensure the use of quieter paddles, please use only pickleball paddles from the approved pickleball list which is also posted on the pickleball bulletin boards and on this website. Heritage Palms has implemented a paddle registration program to ensure sound-dampening paddles are utilized and asks you to visit the Racquet Sports Shop to secure a sticker that designates your paddle is approved.  The club provides balls to ensure maximum sound-dampening.  Please retrieve errant balls and return balls to the sleeve upon departing the courts. See the Racquet Sports Shop if balls are not available.

Please follow pickleball etiquette and rules posted on the entrance gates to the courts.  No profanity, smoking, vaping, alcohol, or glass is permitted. No open music shall be permitted on the courts, including, without limitation, radios, speakers, phones, tablets, and other similar devices. No pets, scooters, or skateboards are allowed on the pickleball courts.
